Drinking water through pipes from deep tubewell irrigation

Water supply through pipes from the irrigation deep tube well in the project phase III

Fertilization

Depending on the exceptional earthquake, weather, temperature, rainfall, etc. in Varendra area, there is scarcity of water in both the earthquake and geothermal area. The people of this area collected dirty water from the places of food and house to the pond, well, canal and creek etc.. This was the normal picture in Barind area. The Varendra Authority adopted a project in this area in 1985 for the development of a coordinated area in rural areas. For the benefit of irrigation works under the project, Varendra authorities started deep tube wells. More than 14700 deep tube wells have been set up till the beginning of the project by the Varendra Authority.
For the prevention of clean water, BMDA has been experimenting in the construction of overhead tanks beside the tube well tube well near the village and supplying water through pipes. In the initial stage, 26 water supply stations were built in 13 upazilas of Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj and Naogaon districts. Later work Experiences In the context of the demand of the area, arrangements for supply of pure drinking water were made by constructing the same structure in 16 districts of the authority under multiple projects. Since the beginning of the project, a total of 1267 water supply establishments have been constructed in 16 districts of the district, so that nearly 13 lakh people of the project area are getting pure drinking water. As a result, various diseases of the people in the project area, especially the water borne diseases, are noticeably decreasing. Diana, a foreign development partner donor, expressed her attitude towards funding such a project, and has created 200 such food water installations through her. Presently, under the continuation of this program, the supply of pure drinking water through piped water pipelines from the irrigation of the irrigated irrigation project is being implemented by constructing 550 installations under the 3rd phase.

Some relevant information of the project is mentioned below
Ministry: Local Government Division, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry.
Implementing Agency: Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA), Rajshahi
Project cost: 11045.00 lakhs
Implementation period: July 2013-June 2017

Project area:
Five districts of Rajshahi Division: Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Bogra and Joypurhat (excluding Pabna, Natore and Sirajganj districts) District. Rangpur Division 8 districts: Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Dinajpur. Thakurgaon and Panchagarh district.

Background
Barind Multipurpose Development Authority is currently working in 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur Division, which is 34500 sq km. Tista river on its east side and surrounded by Mahananda and Padma rivers on the west. This area is 15 meters high to 40 meters above sea level. The area's geology, weather, temperature and rainfall are different from other areas of Bangladesh. The temperature of this region ranges from 40 to 440C and the annual average rainfall is 1200 mm to 1500 mm. Previously there were plenty of ponds, wells, reservoirs in Barind area and these reservoirs were fun / closed for long periods of time. The people of the area used the ponds, ponds, wells, wastewater used in the ponds.
The women in the area used to carry water from the distance to which they were very visible. The scarcity of water in the dry season would have been so evident that in the time of water harvesting, there was a quarrel between themselves and sometimes there was a severe deterioration in law and order.
The agricultural work of the Barind region was largely dependent on rainfall. In no year if the crop was not harvested, the desired crop would not have been available. In order to avoid such situation, the Barind Authority took steps to lift the ground water and use it for the daily use of agricultural laborers. In the same way, in 1985, after establishing a deep hemorrhage, the use of irrigated water was extracted and the use of irrigated land is now possible in the area where the authority is able to produce three crops a year in arable land.

Reasons and objectives of receiving the project
Due to the geographical situation, the location of the groundwater level of the Barind region is less than in other parts of Bangladesh. Water can not be extracted from the normal system in many places in this region. Here it is said that the water can be flown through the manual tube well. Water is available for maximum 2-3 months of the year. All these places are being used by governmental public health engineering department to set up pumps, semi-dumpet tube wells, and are being used for food and household work by raising the ground water level. However, these tubewells are not effective in the case of non-specific cases throughout the year. Apart from having only iron and arsenic in water, it is not suitable for food. For this reason, people of the area collect water from the deep tube well used in the irrigation for use in household work, along with drinking water, or if there is no deep tube well, then collect water from pond, nallah or well.
Considering the above mentioned areas in Barind area, Barind Authority adopts the irrigation water as well as the irrigation water provided by the Local Government Ministry as a result of which the following objectives are achieved.
1. Provide drinking water all year long at low cost in rural areas.
2. Provide arsenic-free pure drinking water in the rural areas.
3. About 5 in the project area
